đź“‹ Description

• Maintain accurate financial records through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable approvals, payment system administration, and month-end close activities • Own the carrier reporting and bordereaux reconciliation process, reviewing policy-level reporting, commissions, and related payment activity • Liaise among Data, Finance, Product, and Program departments to identify discrepancies, determine root causes, and coordinate solutions with internal teams and carrier partners • Lead or support improvements to accounting, reporting, and operational workflows using technology, automation, and AI • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes • Review and approve accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and payment requests • Manage the Ramp payment platform, including user administration, expense management, policy enforcement, and invoice approval workflows • Monitor and reconcile banking activity and assist with ACH payments, wire transfers, and positive pay approvals • Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation • Prepare, review, and post journal entries • Analyze financial data and account activity to identify trends, discrepancies, and process improvement opportunities • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and supporting documentation • Maintain and enhance accounting procedures and internal controls • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, insurance regulations, trust accounting requirements, and company policies • Utilize advanced Excel functions including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables • Support special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting • Experience with month-end close processes required • Insurance industry experience required • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, accounting software, and financial databases, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large volumes of financial data • Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations • Experience with accounting systems, expense management platforms, and financial reporting tools preferred • Knowledge of trust accounting and trust laws preferred • CPA license or active progress toward CPA required • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance, operations, and cross-functional teams • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline pressure
