📋 Description

• Oversee Village Capital’s finance and operations department • Drive the organization’s financial strategy and operational model in coordination with the CEO and Managing Director for Impact Investments • Build and implement automated systems and processes for collecting, analyzing, and reporting financial data • Oversee monthly and annual financial statements, dashboards, and forward-looking projections • Manage investment and grant funding pipeline data and track financial performance • Manage year-end close, annual budgeting, financial planning, board approval, and variance analysis • Oversee annual audits, tax filings including Form 990, and program-specific audits • Develop and operate cash strategy and manage restricted, temporarily restricted, and unrestricted assets • Oversee fiscal sponsorships, re-grants, and pass-through funds • Develop product and service financial models, pricing, and budgets • Build and oversee an integrated back office supporting program-related re-grants, direct investments, and investment structures • Support creation of investment vehicles and ongoing fund administration • Maintain internal financial controls and regulatory compliance • Monitor financial and tax implications of investment holdings and advise on agreements and contracts • Oversee corporate administration, legal services, recordkeeping, incorporation filings, and FINRA/SEC filings • Oversee IT strategy, technology budget, and IT personnel • Ensure employment-law and statutory compliance across operating countries, including GEO/PEO relationships and international payroll • Build and supervise finance, fund administration, and human resources teams • Foster internal communication and a collaborative workplace culture • Oversee banking operations, credit cards, petty cash, third-party finance providers, procurement, contracting, and administrative systems • Coordinate policies and processes affecting finance, operations, and grant management • Liaise with the Board of Directors and Treasurer and co-lead the Board Finance Committee • Prepare and distribute Finance Committee and Board meeting materials, reports, and dashboards • Present financial results during quarterly meetings • Design, manage, and evolve Village Capital’s business model and revenue diversification strategy with the CEO and Business Development team

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field • 7-10+ years of financial management experience • Understanding of organizations with highly diversified revenue streams • Experience with investment management • 2-3 years in a senior managerial role • Experience supervising teams and third-party providers • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) • Ability to build and implement systems for efficient finance and grant reporting and integrated operations • Experience collaborating with diverse teams to manage financial systems supporting a complex business model • Expertise in accounting, financial planning, and operations management • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to build forward-looking financial projections and financial models • Proficiency in technology and data management, including financial software • Working knowledge of human resources operations and organizational development, including compensation structures, performance management, and employment compliance • Position on AI use cases and limitations relevant to work outputs, and willingness to engage with firm-wide AI policy development • Excellent communication skills and experience presenting financial and operational concepts to technical and non-technical audiences • CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred • Experience designing and implementing business models and revenue diversification strategies • Fundraising track record and ability to manage complex external stakeholder relationships preferred • Familiarity with regenerative and sustainable business models • Commitment to community-based decision-making practices and community-centered approaches
