📋 Description

• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives from intake to contract execution • Develop sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives • Conduct market assessments and supplier evaluations • Manage competitive RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs • Prepare executive recommendation materials • Manage strategic supplier relationships across assigned categories • Support supplier governance meetings and performance reviews • Partner with business stakeholders to resolve supplier issues • Lead commercial negotiations for SOWs, MSAs, amendments, and renewals • Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, service levels, rebates, liability provisions, and other contractual terms • Coordinate with legal, stakeholders, and procurement throughout contract execution • Serve as the primary partner for Commercial stakeholders • Provide strategic sourcing guidance throughout project planning • Manage multiple concurrent projects while balancing business priorities • Influence decision-making through data-driven recommendations • Identify cost savings and value creation opportunities • Perform pricing analyses and benchmarking • Develop negotiation strategies to optimize commercial outcomes • Track sourcing pipeline and realize savings • Partner closely with Commercial, Legal, Finance, Third Party Risk Management, Procurement Operations, and Compliance • Support Vertex’s Commercial organization during an FTE’s leave of absence

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • 5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement or category management experience • Experience leading complex sourcing events • Strong Contract negotiation experience • Experience managing supplier relationships • Excellent executive communication skills • Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously • Pharma or biotech industry experience preferred • Commercial procurement experience preferred • Familiarity with procurement systems (Coupa, iCertis, Ariba, etc.) preferred • No C2C or Third-Party Vendors
