📋 Description

• Lead accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis functions for assigned lines of business • Support projects and strategic initiatives across domestic and international entities, including acquisitions and joint ventures • Ensure compliance with accounting, reporting, government, industry, and NAIC Model Audit Rule requirements • Direct preparation and review of financial statements • Serve as key finance contact for assigned line-of-business companies and ensure timely, accurate reporting • Develop strategies to streamline reporting and disseminate information • Monitor financial and control risks and communicate results to auditors and regulators • Work with internal and external auditors to review, evaluate, and implement process and system controls • Review general ledger entries for accuracy and compliance • Monitor and implement internal controls and new accounting guidance • Assist with financial forecasts, budgets, and strategic business plans • Recommend and implement financial policy and procedure changes and continuous quality improvements • Manage direct reports, including coaching, counseling, performance reviews, appraisals, and salary recommendations • Maintain effective communications within areas of responsibility • Prioritize, assign, and distribute departmental work while developing team-member skills • Monitor turnover, productivity, staffing, and overall departmental performance • Participate in interviewing and hiring for departmental positions • Develop the unit budget and monitor expenses

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience related to functional area • Minimum of 6 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing performance of direct reports • Strong interpersonal skills when dealing with business partners, staff, outside auditors, and vendors • Demonstrated experience working with and influencing senior management • Excellent project management skills and experience managing multiple large projects • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the NAIC’s Model Audit Rule (MAR) • Superior analytical skills • Proven track record of influencing constituents for optimal results • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask • Ability to elevate the perception of the corporate brand and company • Flexibility to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational and planning skills • Clean credit history as reported by credit report • Ability to maintain camera presence during meetings in virtual environments
