📋 Description

• Provide expert support, analysis, and research for complex subject-matter problems and processes • Serve as technical expert on high-level project teams • Provide technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives • Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions • Contribute to specific programs and projects • Splice overhead, underground, or submarine multiple-conductor cables • Climb utility poles or towers and access sewers and underground vaults • Cut and remove lead sheath and insulation to access defective or newly installed cables • Test and trace conductors according to electrical diagrams and specifications • Clean, tin, and splice conductors using twisting, metal clips, and soldering • Cover conductors with insulating or fireproofing materials • Install lead sleeves and create moisture-proof cable joints • Fill completed sleeves with insulating oil • Locate and repair leaks in pressurized cable • Work on marine craft when splicing underwater cable • May work on energized circuits to avoid interruption of service

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS in a technical discipline • At least 5 years of experience • Must have and maintain a Secret clearance • Eligible for a Top Secret clearance • Willing to travel 75% or more • Must pass a background check prior to beginning work • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily • Strong written and oral communication skills • Expertise in a particular area of Information Technology or a specific functional area
