📋 Description

• Architect, design, and evolve backend systems, platform services, and APIs using Python and related technologies • Partner with data scientists and machine learning engineers to productionize AI/ML capabilities and integrate models into reliable backend infrastructure • Design and scale distributed systems processing large data volumes • Build secure, resilient data storage and retrieval systems focused on data integrity, privacy, and governance • Work across the product lifecycle from concept exploration and technical design through implementation, launch, and production ownership • Lead complex cross-team technical initiatives influencing roadmap execution and engineering standards • Produce maintainable, well-tested, observable code • Improve systems, tooling, and standards supporting long-term engineering quality • Mentor engineers in backend architecture, distributed systems, and engineering best practices • Stay current with industry trends and identify improvements to backend platforms, infrastructure, and development workflows • Report to the Director, Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • 7+ years of software engineering experience • Deep expertise in backend engineering and distributed systems at scale • Experience with Python, Java, or Go and modern frameworks • Strong knowledge of system design and architectural patterns • Experience designing, building, and operating reliable distributed systems and data-intensive production services • Understanding of scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and performance optimization • Proficiency in backend API design, service-oriented architecture, asynchronous processing, and data modeling • Experience with data integrity, privacy, and access control • Hands-on coding experience • Technical leadership across ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives • Experience collaborating with product, design, data, and ML stakeholders • Experience with code review, technical mentorship, and engineering best practices • Experience supporting and growing engineers through mentorship • Valid right-to-work authorization depending on country of employment • Background check may be required upon offer
