📋 Description

• Support WES’ 100% mission-aligned investment portfolio, including catalytic and thematic investing strategies • Support pipeline development and conduct market research to identify high-quality investment opportunities • Contribute to investment due diligence across financial, strategic, and impact dimensions • Structure investment tools including debt, equity, guarantees, and recoverable grants • Support investment analysis, financial modeling, benchmarking, and portfolio monitoring • Prepare dashboards, reporting, forecasts, trend analyses, screening memos, and investment memos • Contribute to WES’ overarching investment strategy with the Investments team, leadership, and Board • Improve end-to-end investment processes, including pipeline management, diligence frameworks, portfolio monitoring, valuation processes, and reporting systems • Identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions with internal and external stakeholders • Manage project management and CRM systems supporting portfolio milestones and goals • Support portfolio monitoring, valuation, performance reporting, monthly Cash and Investment Reviews, and bi-annual Performance Monitoring and Valuation Analyses • Develop ad hoc analyses and risk assessments for internal stakeholders • Act as an internal connector and advocate for impact investing across WES teams and departments • Develop and execute a knowledge management strategy integrating investment activities and insights across WES • Provide ad hoc administrative support to the Senior Director, Investments • Support learning, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership among investee partners and the broader field • Report to the Senior Manager, Thematic Investments and work with WES departments, Executive Leadership Team members, and Board members

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience • Experience in impact investing or an adjacent field such as venture capital, venture philanthropy, private equity, community development financing, fund investments, social enterprise development, investment banking, and/or private debt • 2+ years of related work experience or 1 year of work experience • Strong analytical and data management skills • Experience assessing situations, breaking down complex problems, identifying strategic tradeoffs, and applying learnings in a larger context • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects • Comfort working with financial statements • Experience conducting portfolio analysis, building models, and preparing clear summaries and visuals • Strong command of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and OneDrive • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems, Tableau, and Google Apps • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Good interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility • Experience building trust with diverse stakeholder groups • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to take calculated risks • Intellectual curiosity, openness to diverse ideas and perspectives, and interest in continued learning and professional development • Deep commitment to WES’ mission, trust-based investing, and centering JEDI in the work • MBA or Master’s degree in a related field is desired • Willingness to travel as needed to meet partners, attend conferences, and periodically visit WES’ New York City and Toronto offices
