📋 Description

• Serve as a mentor, role model, and facilitator providing guidance and academic support to students • Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching, the teaching/learning process, and individual students • Apply skills and experience to the assigned teaching schedule • Participate in and contribute to assessment activities for courses, curricula, and programs through the University’s continuous improvement plan • Improve class materials and syllabi within the shared governance culture • Use varied teaching methodologies to facilitate observable evidence of student learning outcomes • Maintain scholarly activities • Participate in professional growth and service according to university policies • Advance the University’s student success and healthcare-professional focus • Leverage innovative technologies and resources, including Simulation and Innovation Labs • When working with students in a clinical setting, assume responsibility for students in clinical facilities • Clarify clinical expectations with students and clinical facility staff • Direct students to resources for clinical preparation • Assess student knowledge and skills to ensure patient safety and optimal care • Use pre- and post-conferences to connect theory content with clinical objectives and experiences • Provide immediate and midterm/end-of-semester feedback on clinical performance

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years’ prior experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care • Minimum of three years’ experience in the field in which they teach • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Experience working with online learning management systems • Compliance with state, federal, and local laws/regulations and state Board of Nursing standards • MSN required • DNP or PHD required • Professional nurse licensure required • Education and experience must align with state regulations and state authorization agencies’ rules and regulations
