📋 Description

• Build rapport with students, families, and influencers throughout the financial aid process • Support students beginning and actively pursuing education across all WCU locations and programs • Package and repackage students for each academic year • Make timely changes to student awards and respond to active-student tasks • Ensure balances are covered before graduation and partner with UA teams to ensure funds disburse accurately and timely • Calculate and initiate financial aid offers and payment plans • Maintain ongoing student contact and ensure required documents are accurate and timely • Educate students on borrower rights and responsibilities, FAFSA completion, loan decisions, scholarships, and alternative funding • Resolve financial aid issues, identify barriers, and offer creative solutions • Manage an assigned student caseload and execute contact strategies to achieve operational milestones • Ensure processing complies with state and federal regulations • Work proactively with campus and UA teams to improve student and operational outcomes • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred; experienced candidates may be considered without a degree with more than 7 years of financial aid experience and comparable education/experience • Solid working knowledge of financial aid standards and processes in an educational setting • 2 years of customer service experience required • 2 years of financial aid experience required • May not be in default on a federal student loan or owe repayment of a federal grant • Must consent to audio and video recording of student financial aid appointments for training and quality assurance • Highest level of integrity, professional ethics, and confidentiality • Strong customer service skills focused on student success • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Higher than average computer skills • Multitasking and time management skills • Ability to adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment • Ability to work independently in a remote environment • Ability to work alternate hours, including nights and weekends as needed, to support students across all time zones
