📋 Description

• Develop and enforce standardized inter-departmental agreements and workflows • Establish vetting and inter-departmental sign-off processes for new initiatives • Audit and optimize the technology stack for communication and project tracking • Oversee operational support for public policy, advocacy, grants, and programs • Integrate fundraising targets into operational budgets and support sustainable revenue development • Monitor departmental budgets and align operational spending with long-term sustainability • Mitigate silo risk through cross-functional coordination • Identify and manage legal, human resources, operational, financial, reputational, and delivery risks • Foster a high-accountability, high-reliability culture in a virtual workplace • Supervise and coach Directors across departments • Translate CEO and Trustee priorities into organization-wide operating plans • Lead annual and quarterly enterprise prioritization processes • Maintain initiative portfolio dashboards tracking status, risks, and resource allocation • Define decision-making frameworks and resolve cross-functional trade-offs • Oversee lifecycle integration of major cross-departmental initiatives • Define organizational metrics and maintain executive dashboards • Lead cross-departmental budget integration and monitor resource allocation • Design internal communication architecture and asynchronous working norms • Oversee operational vendors, platforms, partners, contracting, and onboarding • Maintain a centralized risk register and contingency plans • Lead Director onboarding and leadership capacity building • Establish continuous improvement, automation, operational pilot, and benchmarking practices • Prepare Board operational materials and provide executive briefings to the CEO

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in senior operational leadership • Experience preferably within a complex non-profit, government agency, or arts-integrated organization • Proven track record of creating order out of ambiguity by building workflows that people want to use • Familiarity with State Arts Agencies, arts advocacy, grantmaking, and Software as a Service (SaaS) is a significant plus • Thorough understanding of project management software, especially Asana • Experience with remote collaboration tools, including Slack and Zoom • Active commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, social justice, and anti-racism • Commitment to, interest in, and understanding of the Creative West region • Experienced and effective virtual worker • Ability to communicate effectively and build consensus • Ability to manage rapidly-shifting priorities • Ability to navigate and operate within ambiguity • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset • Advanced emotional intelligence • Ability to establish trusting relationships
