📋 Description

• Serve as a Crew Member for cultural resource projects • Conduct Phase I and Phase II cultural resources surveys • Document archaeological sites and IOs/IFs • Conduct probing or shovel testing • Use hand-held field technology, including ArcGIS phone/tablet applications paired with sub-meter GPS receivers • Work in moderate weather conditions, including fluctuating temperatures, rain, and snow • Walk 4–10 miles per day over rough terrain and lift up to 50 lbs • Work independently and contribute positively to a collaborative team environment • Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings • Follow instructions and adjust work based on feedback • Support and participate in Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s safety and employee ownership culture • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures • Travel outside as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related field • Proficient in prehistoric and/or historic archaeology in the Midwest region • Proficient in documenting archaeological sites and IOs/IFs in the Midwest region • Organized, motivated, thorough, accurate, dependable, and trustworthy • Excellent navigational skills using GPS and compass • Ability to navigate and drive 4WD vehicles • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and communicate with employees and vendors • Ability to work in moderate weather conditions, including rain and snow • Ability to walk 4–10 miles per day over rough terrain • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs • Proficiency using tablets, including Apple iPad or Samsung Galaxy • Proficiency with sub-meter GPS receiver • Proficiency with ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123 applications • Previous NHPA, NEPA, FERC, and/or other cultural or environmental trainings • Strong writing and editing skills • Ability to evaluate resources for NRHP eligibility • Position requires outside travel
