📋 Description

• Oversee and manage the general ledger • Prepare, review, and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and fixed assets • Ensure accurate reporting of liabilities, assets, and equity accounts • Lead the month-end close process and ensure proper transaction cut-off • Prepare variance analyses between actual and budgeted performance • Support year-end closing and external audits • Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP • Prepare and review financial reports and explain variances • Prepare internal financial reports and recommend improvements • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls • Monitor accounting standards and regulatory requirements • Assist with local, state, and federal tax returns and support tax filings and audits • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes • Streamline month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting • Mentor junior accountants and accounting clerks • Assist with training new hires and day-to-day accounting functions • Collaborate with operations, sales, HR, and other departments • Prepare ad-hoc reports, profitability assessments, cost analyses, and financial forecasts • Prepare budgets and forecasts and assist with annual budgeting

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required) • 3-5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accountant or similar role • Strong experience with general ledger management, journal entries, financial statements, and reconciliations • Experience with financial reporting and compliance • Experience with external audits and financial audits • Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines • Excellent communication skills for explaining financial data to non-financial stakeholders • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Knowledge of specific industry accounting practices • Experience with process automation and improving accounting systems or tools
