• Work Epic WQs and reports containing scheduled services to identify non-contracted coverage assignment, uninsured and self-pay services • Complete the good faith estimate process in Epic for scheduled self-pay services, uninsured patients, and patients with non-contracted plans in specific settings • Communicate with patients and process payments prior to the service date • Work with division, clinical, and scheduling teams on the Epic referral triage process • Engage with pre-arrival, pre-certification, and WUPN staff to secure out-of-network authorizations and single case agreements • Ensure services are canceled when out-of-network authorization or a single case agreement cannot be obtained • Interact with physicians, clinical staff, department and division administrators, and personnel • Serve as liaison for the department, division, patients, and affiliated hospital systems • Coordinate notify, consent, signature, good faith estimate, estimate delivery, out-of-network authorization, and single case agreement processes • Perform other duties as assigned
• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or combination of education and/or experience • 5 years of billing or insurance work experience • No specific certification or professional license required • Driver's license is not required • Ability to coordinate professional billing activities in Epic under No Surprise Billing Act requirements • Preferred: 2 years of college or business school experience • Preferred skills: Communication, computer literacy, confidential data handling, medical terminology, office equipment, payment collections, telephone system • Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily • Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and other checks as applicable
