📋 Description

• Perform advanced insurance follow-up billing and collection activities for physician services • Review patient accounts for accurate insurance, eligibility, invoicing, correspondence, remittances, and additional-information requests • Use Epic, system tools, and payer websites for claim submission, claim status, attachments, eligibility, and authorization/referral inquiries • Make collection calls to insurance companies and/or patients • Contact insurance companies regarding payment posting and collection agencies regarding payment reports • Support the customer service unit by answering billing and collection questions • Assist with training new staff • Meet daily Quality Assurance and meaningful-efficiency standards for working invoices • Follow departmental best practices for one-touch resolution • Discuss issues with management and staff members • May act as Team Lead • Assist with special projects • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or a combination of education and/or experience • 3 years of billing or insurance work experience • Ability to perform insurance follow-up, billing, and collection duties • Experience reviewing insurance eligibility, claims, remittances, and account information • Experience using Epic EHR, payer websites, and system tools • Knowledge of claims resolution and collections strategies • Knowledge of health insurance billing, medical billing and coding, medical terminology, and ICD-10 procedure coding • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word • Ability to handle confidential data in accordance with HIPAA • Telephone communications skills • Communication skills • Preferred: Associate degree • External candidates receiving an offer must complete applicable pre-employment screening, including criminal background checks and other checks as applicable
