📋 Description

• Perform advanced billing and collection activities • Act as Lead IBC Assistant • Train and provide guidance to other IBC Assistants • Perform collection follow-up for commercial insurance, self-pay, Medicare, and Medicaid claims • Handle discounts, adjustments, and charge corrections • Make collection calls to insurance companies and patients to ensure timely claim payments • Review remittance advices for rejection and payment accuracy • Verify charge-ticket accuracy and completeness • Monitor claim attachments to obtain maximum reimbursements • Contact insurance companies regarding payment posting • Contact collection agencies regarding payment reports • Respond to insurance-company questions and requests • Support the customer service unit with billing and collection questions • Provide backup support for Accounts Receivable staff during peak times, vacations, and illnesses

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or combination of education and/or experience • 3 years of billing or insurance work experience • Experience may be combined with education to meet the qualification • No specific certification or professional license required • Driver's license not required • Preferred: 2 years of post-secondary education • Preferred skills: collections strategies, communication, computer literacy, confidential data handling, medical terminology, office equipment, telephone system
