📋 Description

• Build and improve Zen Educate’s education staffing platform connecting teachers, schools, and internal operations teams • Work in small, dynamic, mission-based teams focused on real-world outcomes • Shape problems and collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Product, and Operations • Deliver iterative improvements and ship frequently • Develop and maintain platform features across Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native • Support AI-related initiatives, including teacher qualification projects, AI knowledge bases, and bug triaging • Overhaul permissions systems, implement audit logging, and build administrative interfaces • Create product analytics events using Mixpanel • Upgrade the React Native application and Expo SDK • Improve database anonymisation and internal development tooling • Track DevEx metrics such as CI pass rates and deployment frequency • Address vulnerabilities identified through red-team exercises • Propose and lead missions that advance the business • Participate in onboarding, interviews, feedback, and internal debrief processes

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to work remotely in the CT/ET timezone • Strong communication skills and async working habits • Curiosity, adaptability, and proactiveness • Ability to build relationships quickly and take ownership of problems end-to-end • Product thinking and ability to shape problems rather than only deliver tickets • Technical expertise demonstrated through a paired coding session • Ability to ask questions, drive progress with another engineer, and investigate an ambiguous problem in the codebase • Ability to discuss demonstrated product mindset • Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, React Native, Heroku, and Cloudflare is relevant to the role • Ability to meet in person with at least one team member during the offer stage
