• Manage cases from inception through trial across multiple states and jurisdictions • Act as lead counsel on select high-risk proceedings for a major client • Collaborate with local counsel throughout motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trials • Attend in-person hearings, depositions, arbitrations, and trials • Obtain admission to additional state bars via waiver as business needs dictate • Secure local counsel and file for pro hac vice admission in temporary jurisdictions • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and comprehensive trial briefs • Present oral arguments and conduct witness examinations • Lead trial teams in diverse courts • Develop and execute client-specific litigation strategies under the direction of the Vice President of Litigation Operations and General Counsel • Develop and manage guidelines, plans, procedures, and processes for the Counterclaim Litigation Group • Mentor and train attorneys in litigation skills • Communicate with clients, firm management, and the nationwide network of local trial attorneys • Keep legal leadership informed of legal trends and challenges and recommend appropriate action
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school • Active bar admission license in good standing in multiple states • Eligibility to waive into additional designated state bars through reciprocity • Minimum 6–8 years of progressive civil litigation experience, including trial work • 5 years at the senior management or executive level • Advanced civil litigation experience • Successfully prosecuted bench and jury trials to completion • Experience serving as primary legal counsel to senior attorneys and recommending appropriate action • Deep understanding of civil procedure rules and court customs • Ability to work effectively while traveling or working remotely • Strong networking skills to build rapport with local counsel • Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device • Private home workspace free from third parties and household members • Stable internet service with minimum speed of 5 Mbps or qualifying broadband cable access • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security standards • Availability during business hours • Compliance with the Firm’s Remote Working Policy • Ability to lift five pounds or greater • Ability to sit for 90% of the workday at times • Ability to bend at the waist and remain mobile when needed • Ability to concentrate and use critical thinking
