📋 Description

• Investigate and manage complex homeowner liability claims, including dog bites, slip-and-fall incidents, and third-party property damage or bodily injury claims • Independently handle a litigation-focused caseload from a home office • Evaluate coverage, liability, damages, coverage limits, and claim value • Conduct thorough investigations and review medical reports for settlement evaluation • Negotiate and settle claims according to business unit best practices • Coordinate appraisals for highly complex, disputed claims • Set and update reserves, document rationale, and maintain claim summary notes • Act as primary contact for policyholder attorneys and lead direct negotiations • Draft and respond to attorney correspondence, information requests, and demands • Research and respond to customer communications, concerns, conflicts, and issues • Summarize documents and maintain claim system notes documenting evaluations and decisions • Communicate with customers, attorneys, and claim stakeholders via phone, email, and text • Manage litigation exposures and drive fair, timely claim resolutions

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of bodily injury claims handling experience, including litigation and/or complex casualty claims • Experience handling homeowner liability claims preferred but not required • Strong investigation, negotiation, and claim resolution skills • Ability to manage attorney-represented claims and complex liability exposures • Candidates based on the West Coast strongly preferred • Applicants must be able to reliably work Pacific Time zone hours if located elsewhere • Home office must be in the United States • Position unavailable to residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Washington • Dedicated private home workspace free from distractions • Minimum internet bandwidth of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload • Appropriate work surface and seating • May be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire, if applicable • Applicants with an active insurance license must terminate existing appointments before onboarding and cannot hold outside appointments during employment • Applicants for an adjuster role who hold a resident producer license must surrender it when instructed • Required to submit to a background investigation • Allstate generally does not sponsor employment-based visas for this position
