📋 Description

• Lead the engineering organization behind LiveAction, BlueCat's Network Observability product line • Own the technical direction, architecture, delivery, and operational excellence of a complex, data-intensive platform • Set the technical direction and multi-year engineering roadmap for network observability, network performance monitoring, or infrastructure monitoring products • Lead engineering teams delivering enterprise infrastructure products and services across SaaS and on-prem environments • Architect and scale platforms that ingest, process, and analyze network telemetry, including flow data, SNMP, packet capture, synthetic testing, and streaming telemetry • Deliver AI capabilities for anomaly detection, root-cause analysis, and predictive insights • Evolve long-lived code bases and develop plans to retire technical debt • Build geographically distributed engineering teams and manage work transitions to offshore teams and multiple sites • Coach, mentor, and develop managers and senior technical leaders • Establish software development standards, processes, and best practices • Develop strategic plans with Product Management, executive leadership, and team members • Engage directly with enterprise and government strategic accounts to understand technical requirements and resolve escalations • Partner cross-functionally with Product Management, Customer Care, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success

🎯 Requirements

• MS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields • 15+ years of experience in a software engineering environment • 10+ years managing senior individual contributors and other leads/managers, including leading managers of managers • Direct experience building network observability, network performance monitoring, or network/infrastructure management products • Strong technical fluency in networking fundamentals and telemetry (TCP/IP, routing/switching, NetFlow/IPFIX, SNMP, packet analysis, WAN/SD-WAN) • Knowledge of open source technologies such as ClickHouse, Prometheus/Grafana, and Kubernetes • Experience delivering high-performance hardware/appliance systems for network telemetry/packets • Strong experience and detailed technical knowledge in SaaS or PaaS engineering and on-prem enterprise software delivery • Strong development experience in Java, C++, or similar object-oriented languages • Experience operating at, or reporting directly to, the C-level • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience in a collaborative, agile development environment
