📋 Description

• Review and process bi-weekly payroll for U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries • Perform timecard review, payroll accounting and reconciliations • Complete quarterly and annual compliance filings • Handle accounts payable activities related to benefits and payroll compliance • Support year-end reporting, including W-2s, T4s, RL-1s, and vendor 1099s • Research and resolve issues; initiate corrective actions and adjustments • Coordinate maintenance of the Dayforce payroll system • Prepare general ledger transactions timely and accurately • Support the annual 401(k) audit • Ensure annual benefits updates are implemented accurately and timely • Organize and maintain sub-ledger transaction files • Ensure a timely and accurate close process for areas of responsibility • Own the Payroll inbox and address employee inquiries • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and GAAP • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and process improvements • Manage Canadian payroll requirements, including filing Records of Employment (ROEs) • Complete annual vacation rollover and entitlement true-up in accordance with provincial requirements • Provide ad hoc support to the Accounting team during non-payroll weeks • Report to the Senior Operational Accounting Manager

🎯 Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting or 5+ years of payroll accounting experience • 4 to 7 years of related experience with payroll, benefits, compliance, accounting and audit • Must have experience processing payroll for both U.S. and Canadian entities • Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and quality control concepts • Experience with Canadian payroll and vacation entitlements required • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, displaying the ability to connect and build relationships with employees and other departments • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple and competing priorities while meeting established deadlines • Process improvement mindset • Adaptability, personal accountability, high degree of ownership and a strong drive to succeed • Responsive and proactive with positive customer service skills • Positive attitude with a desire to learn, understand responsibilities and improve processes • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred • French speaking is a plus • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in Canada • Unable to sponsor or transfer sponsorship of an employment visa / work permit at this time
