📋 Description

• Develop strategies and build strong relationships to establish an intervention plan facilitating the insured’s recovery and timely, sustainable return to work • Communicate by phone and mail with various parties to understand the absence context and communicate decisions to the insured and policyholder • Approve and adjudicate claims, process waivers of premium, establish benefit amounts, determine payable periods, process payments and complete follow-ups • Prepare documents for claimant interviews by the rehabilitation coordinator • Review claims with medical consultants and the legal department as required • Process disability claims in accordance with group insurance contract terms

🎯 Requirements

• College diploma in a related field • A minimum of three years of relevant experience as a disability claims specialist (short- and/or long-term disability management, return-to-work, claims adjudication), healthcare such as rehabilitation, nursing, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychology, occupational health, etc. • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered • Advanced proficiency in English • Must reside within Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba or the Atlantic region
