📋 Description

• Process and adjudicate short- and long-term disability claims • Establish eligibility and review medical documentation to determine whether Total Disability is met • Calculate earnings and benefit levels • Conduct telephone interviews with claimants • Request appropriate medical documentation, including MC, MRT, IME, FCE, and rehabilitation records • Maintain accurate claims documentation and confidentiality of client, corporate, and medical records • Meet department turnaround times and standards • Explain coverage details, client responsibilities, and next steps • Resolve client complaints and build relationships with claimants, unions, employers, clients, and team members • Release only allowable information to recognized recipients • Review claims holistically to determine workable policy-compliant solutions • Identify inefficient processes and propose solutions to management • Report directly to the Manager, Disability Department

🎯 Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in Health Sciences or a related discipline • Insurance/industry-related designations considered an asset (CEBS, LOMA, ALHC, CDMP, CRTWC) • 4 years of disability industry or case management related work experience • Bilingual communication skills • Ability to assess medical documentation and essential job duties • Knowledge of disability claims adjudication and case management • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations
