📋 Description

• Provide scientific and technical support to conduct interagency consultations under the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Magnuson-Stevens Act (MSA), Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), Federal Power Act (FPA), and NEPA. • Review, gather, analyze, and synthesize scientific data to evaluate environmental impacts to listed species and habitats • Draft ESA Biological Opinions, Letters of Concurrence, and MSA responses • Review Biological Assessments and consultation packages • Provide pre-consultation technical assistance to action agencies • Prepare NEPA documentation (EAs/EISs) • Draft permits and supporting materials for ESA section 10 activities • Coordinate with NMFS Science Centers, engineers, and interagency partners • Maintain administrative records and consultation tracking systems • Participate in meetings with federal, tribal, and state stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3+ experience OR Master’s degree in aquatic biology, conservation biology, fisheries management, wildlife management or related field of study with 1+ years of experience relating to the specific task order • Knowledge of salmonid general life cycles and habitat requirements • Strong technical writing and communication skills • Valid state driver’s license • Experience drafting ESA and NEPA regulatory documents • Knowledge of ESA, MSA, NEPA, and related statutes • Experience evaluating impacts to salmonids and aquatic habitats • Experience working with federal, tribal, and state partners
