📋 Description

• Design, scale, and performance-tune GraphQL APIs, low-latency gRPC services, and SQL queries for sportsbook, casino, financial ledger, responsible gaming, tax, regulatory, promotional, and risk-management systems • Own highly complex technical problems, draft proposals, and present them to leadership and partner teams • Design, architect, and deliver features end-to-end in an agile/scrum environment • Identify production bottlenecks and risks and drive scalability improvements • Set up and refine Datadog monitoring and alerting • Mentor engineers through specifications, pairing, and code reviews • Collaborate with stakeholders across business domains on products, operational improvements, and cost-efficiency optimizations • Bridge internal, third-party, legacy, and modern systems through data migrations, data translation, and supporting infrastructure • Support business-critical wagering, payout, ledger, data residency, and regulatory systems

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Software engineering • Solid foundation in computer science, including data structures, distributed systems, algorithms, and software design • Experience with production systems at scale, load testing, and tracing • Experience investigating and remediating CPU, I/O, memory, and latency regressions in high-throughput services • Experience with on-call rotations and owning release cycles end-to-end • Experience with modern web frameworks and API development, including Phoenix, Ruby on Rails, Fast API, Laravel, or Node • 2+ years of experience designing and evolving GraphQL schemas for iOS, Android, and Web clients • Experience building and integrating multi-client/white-label platforms, geo-based routing, and per-client configuration • Strong knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL • Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments • Comfort with terminal tools, Git, and GitHub or similar • Experience with testing frameworks such as ExUnit, RSpec, Jest, or pytest • Experience with background job processing such as Oban, Exq, Sidekiq, Celery, or Beanstalk • Experience with asynchronous event handling infrastructure such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or Google Cloud Pub/Sub • Experience building financial, legal, and/or process accounting systems with strong correctness and auditability • Experience with agentic software development tools and workflows is a major asset • Experience with relational database theory is a major asset • Experience with Elixir, hexagonal architecture, Domain Driven Development, open source contribution, startups, or sports/esports is nice to have
