• Provide technical leadership and oversight of construction materials testing, inspection, and geotechnical field activities across Canada • Manage the field compaction testing program, including certification tracking, calibrations, resource scheduling, revenue tracking, and forecasting • Supervise, train, mentor, and provide technical direction to field staff • Perform and oversee soil, aggregate, and compaction testing, including use of nuclear densometers • Interpret project design drawings, specifications, and applicable ASTM, CSA, municipal, and provincial standards • Identify and communicate quality issues and non-conforming work • Review field reports, test results, technical documentation, and daily records • Provide technical oversight on reporting and documentation • Coordinate with laboratory operations and support CCIL quality requirements • Act as Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) or alternate, as required • Support proposals, client relationships, and business development activities • Promote and maintain strong health and safety practices across field and laboratory operations • Work with clients, contractors, and project teams in a QA/QC environment • Help grow Phasor Engineering’s materials testing and field services capabilities
• 8+ years’ experience in construction materials testing, civil construction, inspection, or a related field • Hands-on experience with soil and compaction testing • Experience operating portable nuclear moisture/density gauges • Knowledge of ASTM and CSA testing standards • Experience supervising, training, or mentoring field staff • Experience working with clients, contractors, and project teams in a QA/QC environment • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and provide technical direction in the field • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout Canada • Up to 90% travel-based position, dependent on project and staffing requirements • Comfortable working extended periods away from home and on remote or active construction sites • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 50+ lbs • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical field activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) is an asset • CCIL, RSO, geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental, or business development experience is an asset • Experience performing or overseeing concrete and asphalt sampling and testing is an asset • Experience performing or overseeing laboratory testing such as sieve analysis, Proctor, concrete strength, hydrometer, Atterberg limits, and specific gravity is an asset • Experience inspecting concrete and reinforcing steel, asphalt, foundations, water resources infrastructure, or other civil construction inspections is an asset • Experience performing or overseeing geotechnical, hydrogeological, or environmental field investigations is an asset
