📋 Description

• Lead the team that builds and operates Wealthsimple's business-critical systems of record and integrations • Manage a team of developers while remaining hands-on in code and architecture • Build relationships with leaders across Finance, Legal, Customer Operations and Experience, Security, IT, and Data • Translate business operating problems into technical scope and propose effective solutions • Write and review production code and lead complex integration design • Own technical standards through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural direction • Manage, coach, and develop developers through expectations, feedback, and growth support • Own delivery across scope, sequencing, dependencies, risk, and trusted business status reporting • Maintain release and change discipline, including deployment cadence, environment strategy, rollback paths, and audit-ready controls • Report on team throughput, backlog health, and system risk • Report to the Senior Manager, Business Enterprise Systems

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of application development experience, including at least 2 years of managing a development team and leading them through successful delivery of custom builds • Strong working knowledge of at least one general-purpose language such as Java, TypeScript, Ruby, or Python, with recent hands-on experience building production systems • Experience planning and furthering the professional growth of individual team members, including 1-1s, performance reviews, ongoing feedback, goal-setting, and promotions • A track record of providing technical and process guidance to a team throughout delivery • Experience planning and delivering application projects such as implementations, migrations, upgrades, and configuration, organizing deadlines, resources, and cross-functional stakeholders • Experience owning integrations and data flows across third-party software platforms • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform for automation in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP • Experience with resource allocation and strategic roadmap development, including sequencing competing priorities across stakeholders and defending the tradeoffs • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels and collaborate effectively across functions to achieve shared business goals • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive process improvements • Experience applying AI tools to accelerate development and automate business workflows • Experience working with tool APIs like Jira, Slack, Okta, Workato, and Google Workspace in an enterprise-level environment (nice to have) • Experience managing development teams in high-growth technology environments or fintech/regulated industries (nice to have) • Legally eligible to work in Canada
