• Own and grow a local territory by developing and executing a clear outbound sales strategy, with a focus on net-new revenue and category expansion • Build and maintain a robust pipeline through consistent prospecting, networking, and market engagement • Identify, prioritize, and win new business with local and regional advertisers, leading the full sales cycle from outreach to close
• 5+ years’ experience in sales, specifically in the digital media/news industry, with a strong emphasis on outbound/new business development • Proven track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets, particularly through new logo acquisition • Strong presence and confidence in selling to senior decision-makers • Experience developing territory or category-level sales strategies • Understanding of digital media, online marketing technology, and Axios’ competitive landscape • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead deal execution across internal teams • Existing relationships within local/regional advertiser and agency ecosystems preferred • Highly motivated, resilient, and energized by prospecting and closing • Willingness to travel and represent Axios in-market
