📋 Description

• Prepare and review trust tax returns, company financials, and individual tax returns. • Handle SMSF accounting work in accordance with Australian requirements and the client’s established processes. • Prepare and analyse financial statements and supporting workpapers. • Assist with SMSF audit preparation and respond to queries as required. • Utilise Xero, BGL, MYOB Reporter, and Microsoft Excel for accounting and financial reporting. • Ensure accurate tax accounting and reporting in compliance with Australian taxation requirements. • Review work carefully and proactively identify discrepancies or issues. • Take ownership of assigned jobs and follow them through to completion. • Proactively communicate progress, questions, delays, and potential issues. • Collaborate effectively with the client and internal team to meet agreed deadlines and maintain quality standards. • Communicate directly with an Australian client and provide professional opinions.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Australian Accountant. • Strong experience in trust returns, company financials, and Australian tax accounting. • Hands-on SMSF experience; candidates must be able to explain the SMSF work they have personally completed. • Experience with BGL is highly desirable. • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB Reporter, and Microsoft Excel. • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. • Confident communicating directly with Australian clients. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and proactive communication. • Ability to work independently, ask questions when clarification is required, and meet deadlines. • Comfortable learning and following the client’s established SMSF processes. • Willingness to build a stable, long-term client relationship and grow with the role.
