• Join part of the Bank’s new place‑based (Local Growth) team, within a defined region/Devolved Nation • Support the development of a tailored local strategy and deliver meaningful outcomes by engaging with the local market • Identify, catalyse, and facilitate commercial opportunities such as connecting finance providers with clusters of high‑potential businesses to drive measurable growth in local financing and business activity • Foster a local financing ecosystem that enables innovative, high‑potential businesses to access the right finance • Leverage the Bank’s expertise in small business access to finance • Build credibility quickly with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including investment professionals, local leaders, and politicians • Facilitate the proposal, negotiation, and implementation of activities and change within the region
• Existing and active network within the SME support and/or economic development ecosystem in region / Devolved Nation • Knowledge and experience of the SME access to finance eco-system • Commercial experience in accessing and/or delivering equity or debt instruments • Strong technical and strategic understanding of how investment decisions are made and how capital flows into local markets • Proven ability to act as a strategic partner to external stakeholders, influencing decision‑makers at both operational and strategic levels • Good analytical capability, including confidence in working with quantitative and qualitative data to produce compelling, insightful materials that inform strategy, support stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the delivery of measurable and impactful outcomes
