• Lead functional safety activities across the product lifecycle, from concept through production and post-deployment. • Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments using methodologies such as STPA, FMEA, and FTA. • Define and manage functional safety requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance. • Support development of safety concepts, architectures, and safety cases. • Collaborate with systems, software, and hardware teams to integrate safety into designs. • Drive implementation and verification of risk mitigation measures. • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or relevant domain-specific standards). • Prepare and present safety analyses, reports, and documentation for leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies. • Lead safety reviews, audits, and cross-functional discussions. • Mentor junior engineers and influence stakeholders on safety best practices.
• 8–12 years of experience in functional safety engineering • Experience in one or more domains: Autonomous systems / robotics, Automotive, Mining / heavy equipment, Agricultural machinery • Hands-on experience with STPA is highly preferred • CFSE / CFSP / AFSP / Functional Safety Engineer certification or equivalent Preferred • Strong knowledge of functional safety standards and lifecycle processes • Expertise in risk assessment techniques (STPA, FMEA, FTA) • Understanding of Safety Integrity Levels (SIL/ASIL)
