📋 Description

• Contribute to software development and deployment quality as part of an AI-first engineering team • Analyze software and systems, mitigate risk, and prevent software issues • Design, code, test, and debug technical solutions, including complex components • Provide product support and fix defects in older technologies • Help move legacy products into newer web technologies • Write clean, documented, commented code following best practices • Estimate effort and ensure schedules are met • Collaborate on specifying, designing, and developing software to meet product requirements • Identify process deficiencies and implement improvements • Review code through pull-request reviews and pair programming • Work with the security team to meet data-security standards • Operate independently on well-scoped tasks and support less experienced team members • Leverage AI tooling to accelerate development, code review, and specification work • Maintain current knowledge and skills, including relevant emerging trends • Suggest innovative solutions that improve business efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity

🎯 Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role • Experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot or similar) • Experience in Java or Microsoft C# • Good understanding and experience of SQL • Understanding of APIs and REST • Experience in unit testing • Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation, and best practice • Awareness of current trends and developments in software engineering, including AI-assisted development practices • Experience with Agile or Kanban methodologies • Ability to identify technical risks and propose alternative solutions • Highly developed attention to detail • Desirable: experience in JavaScript, Angular, or Knockout • Desirable: awareness and experience of Google Kubernetes Engine, GCP offerings, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps • Desirable: awareness and experience of AWS • Desirable: degree level or equivalent education in a relevant subject such as computer science, computer engineering, information management systems, software development, or business information systems
