📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate production services for customers across backend, infrastructure, and integrations • Lead technical projects from ambiguity through scoping, design, implementation, deployment, measurement, and iteration • Use AI coding tools to draft, refactor, explore, and review while remaining accountable for shipped code • Build and integrate AI-powered product features including agent workflows, LLM-backed APIs, retrieval systems, and evaluation pipelines • Review code rigorously, including AI-generated code, and establish safe standards for incorporating AI output • Debug difficult production problems by tracing systems, forming hypotheses, verifying them, and fixing root causes • Mentor engineers on judgment, taste, verification, and evaluating AI suggestions • Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems • Strong fundamentals in data structures, concurrency, distributed systems, databases, networking, and security • Experience with production operations, observability, safe change rollouts, and incident debugging • Strong code review judgment, including identifying bugs, security issues, and architectural problems in AI-generated code • Clear technical writing and ability to explain complex problems plainly • Fluent daily use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor • Experience with LLM-backed systems, including at least one of: agent frameworks, tool/function calling, RAG pipelines, prompt evaluation, or model fine-tuning • Understanding of LLM and agent production failure modes, including hallucination, drift, prompt injection, latency variance, and cost blowups • Experience measuring model and agent quality with metrics, evaluation harnesses, regression suites, or human-in-the-loop review • Ownership, sound technical judgment, communication, and mentorship • Nice to have, not required: production agent systems, open-source AI tooling or agent framework contributions, EdTech experience, or broader technical leadership
