📋 Description

• Develop software consistent with Cisco Design Thinking Principles, focusing on simplification and UX • Use secure coding practices, ensure user privacy, and follow software development best practices • Partner with design, product management, and other teams to create customer-focused solutions • Create technical design documentation and contribute to end-user documentation • Bring new ideas for product innovation and improve software development processes • Identify and resolve complex problems affecting business direction • Develop and deliver innovative customer- and client-benefiting strategies • Lead major business projects impacting a region or entire function, proving the model on Isovalent before broader SBG engineering adoption • Contribute to annual organizational objectives and priorities • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, including with central program management and product management • Translate strategic vision into technical vision and clear engineering priorities • Lead cross-business-segment, functional, or regional projects • Drive large features from technical design through completion • Lead software development lifecycle and agile engineering strategies, including integrations connecting ticketing systems, meeting recordings and transcripts, and milestone data into a shared source of truth • Influence technical direction and deliverables across the function • Define system-wide trade-offs and new product categories, including internal status/reporting systems as products • Lead design choices across Cisco offerings • Create metrics and influence product adoption, direction, and cross-team alignment efficiency • Write and set standards for functional clean code • Drive processes for issue identification, sustainable response, proactive tooling, and continuous improvement for production systems • Represent or present team outputs at external events when applicable • Communicate priorities, deadlines, and requirement changes in the context of engineering priorities and user needs • Negotiate trade-offs in timing, design, and specifications • Lead, mentor, and influence senior engineers • Build systems that make meeting recordings, transcripts, and status materials searchable, connected, and useful to engineering and product teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of related experience, or Master's degree plus 8 years of related experience, or PhD plus 5 years of related experience • Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in the primary job family or field of specialization • Wide range of experiences and advanced technical acumen serving as an advisor to management • Experience designing and building internal engineering tools, integrations, APIs, or data pipelines across systems such as Jira, GitHub, CDET, collaboration platforms, and meeting recording or transcription services • Experience turning fragmented operational data into reliable, searchable, and actionable views of milestones, dependencies, and delivery status • Track record of treating internal developer or process tooling as a product, with defined users, clear UX standards, and measures of adoption or impact • Comfort serving as the technical owner of a cross-functional initiative, working directly with engineering, product management, and central PM teams • Experience identifying and connecting to existing enterprise processes and systems rather than creating parallel sources of information • Experience proving an approach with one team, measuring its impact, and scaling it across a broader organization
