📋 Description

• Design and scale Go microservices managing the full lifecycle of AI generation • Optimise ConnectRPC services and asynchronous Kafka and SQS pipelines for long-running, resource-intensive inference • Build backend logic for multimodal orchestration across images, video, audio, 3D and vector • Use AWS to manage large data throughput and integrate with high-performance storage and compute clusters • Collaborate with external providers and Product to connect model output with production user experience • Document architectural decisions on concurrency, queueing, backpressure and failure handling • Improve reliability and latency across the generation path and own observability • Own code review, testing strategy and on-call readiness • Integrate new frontier models into production workflows • Contribute to technical direction across the wider backend platform • Stay current with distributed systems, AI infrastructure and model-serving developments

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience building and scaling backend services in Go in high-traffic, high-volume SaaS environments • Proven ability to design distributed microservice architectures • Experience with asynchronous processing using Kafka and SQS • Experience with low-latency service communication using gRPC, ConnectRPC or GraphQL • Experience handling long-running or resource-intensive workloads with queueing, backpressure and retry strategies • Deep AWS knowledge, including EKS, S3 and Lambda • Solid relational database skills, ideally Postgres, including schema design, query performance and handling growth • Strong production discipline, including observability, performance profiling, debugging live systems, code review and automated testing • Comfortable owning and documenting architectural decisions • Good written and spoken English • Strong ownership of system reliability and quality • Pragmatic and self-directed approach • Strong written communication and ability to work effectively in a distributed team with limited real-time overlap • Must already be living in Australia or New Zealand
