📋 Description

• Design and develop software and improve existing code for efficiency and bug detection • Write unit tests and validate software against acceptance criteria • Evolve application design and architecture toward leading-edge technologies and practices • Author, apply, and advocate for coding, documentation, and testing standards • Conduct impact analysis across multiple applications • Learn business process domains and align technology with business processes • Experiment, test ideas, validate assumptions, and recommend solutions • Lead code reviews and communicate application changes • Document code and projects for maintainability and support • Debug production problems and propose effective solutions across applications • Read, write, and review design documents • Contribute to sprint commitments and participate in Agile practices and process improvement • Lead continuous learning activities to improve design, code quality, and application-domain knowledge • Participate in the talent selection process • Mentor less experienced software engineers through code, design, and documentation reviews • Provide technical direction, drive architecture decisions, and lead initiatives across multiple applications and systems • Collaborate with business and technology partners to deliver scalable solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study; or equivalent work experience • Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience or comparable depth of experience • 3 years of recent Genesys Cloud experience • 5 years of recent Java experience • Experience leading technical direction for software engineering talent across multiple applications • Strong understanding and use of one or more object-oriented programming languages and design patterns • Practical experience with SDLC, including Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall • Practical experience in data modeling, design, and messaging • Experience working on mission-critical enterprise-class applications • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor less experienced team members • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation • Advanced understanding of IDEs • In-depth usage and creation of APIs and frameworks • Experience with JSON, REST/SOAP-based web services, JUnit, Jenkins, and Bitbucket preferred • Experience in API security, analytics, throttling, caching, logging, and request/response modifications • Experience creating REST API documentation using Swagger or similar tools desirable • Ability to use DDL to create database objects and relationships, construct advanced queries, and optimize query performance • Financial services industry experience • Ability to challenge the status quo and influence stakeholders • Ability to communicate complex technical information verbally and in writing to all levels, including senior leadership • Regularly overlap with U.S. business hours • Remain compliant with company policies, processes, and guidelines
