• Relays telephone calls between deaf, hard of hearing, and speech-impaired consumers (TTY users) and hearing consumers through the telephone network. • Excellent communication skills • Ability to read text aloud from a computer and listen to spoken word and transcribe to text on a computer
• A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent • 18 years of age or older • Ability to type at 60 words per minute with minimal errors (to graduate training) • 50 words per minute with 90% accuracy to qualify for training • Excellent customer service experience and a relaxed/calm demeanor • Ability to work various schedules, including weekdays, weekends, overnight, and holidays • Must be able to pass skill assessments administered by a local recruiter
