📋 Description

• Own the AI processing pipeline, a chained asynchronous multi-stage system built on queued jobs • Ensure pipeline correctness, observability, and cost efficiency • Build full-stack features using Laravel on the backend and React on the frontend • Own AWS infrastructure end to end, including ECS, Aurora, S3, monitoring, and cost control • Support SOC 2 Type 2 compliance through evidence collection, control remediation, access reviews, and backup restoration testing • Lead a small team of 2–3 engineers through code review, technical direction, unblocking, and growth conversations • Contribute to product decisions and challenge implementation and product assumptions • Write code across the stack in this hands-on engineering leadership role

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building and running production systems as a full-stack engineer • Genuine proficiency in both Laravel and React • Strong PHP/Laravel, or equivalent modern backend framework experience with willingness to work in Laravel • Hands-on AWS ownership, including ECS and Aurora/RDS • Experience with monitoring, incident response, and cost optimization • Experience with asynchronous job processing: queues, workers, retries, idempotency, and dead-letter handling • Production experience with the OpenAI API, including completions, structured outputs, and vector stores • Experience handling non-deterministic output and controlling token cost at scale • Fluency with AI-assisted development and Claude Code • Experience leading or mentoring engineers • Professional working English • SOC 2 or similar compliance experience • ATS, HR tech, or recruiting domain knowledge • Infrastructure as code experience with CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK • Experience building or integrating MCP servers or agentic workflows
