📋 Description

• Manage daily bank balances, payment listings and cash flow-related activities • Process vendor payments, staff claims, refunds and other finance transactions • Maintain a full set of accounts and ensure timely financial reporting • Manage inter-company transactions and allocation of deferred revenue • Work with Operations and internal teams on fee collection, reconciliations and financial matters • Support financial planning, cost monitoring and business performance activities • Review monthly financial reports prepared by the external accountant • Perform variance analysis, identify trends and provide recommendations • Prepare month-end closing schedules for balance sheet items • Perform inter-company reconciliations and resolve discrepancies • Support budgets, forecasts and financial projections • Analyse budget-versus-actual performance and provide insights to management • Ensure compliance with internal policies, controls and statutory requirements • Coordinate Malaysia statutory requirements, including Annual General Meetings, Annual Returns, corporate tax filings and other submissions • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries and regulatory authorities • Support annual audits, tax submissions and statutory reporting • Prepare and present monthly financial information to senior management • Lead monthly financial review discussions covering variances, trends, risks and recommendations • Partner with the General Manager and Directors on financial analysis, business planning and strategic decisions • Improve financial processes and operational efficiency with internal stakeholders • Own ad-hoc finance projects, system implementations and process automation • Identify opportunities to streamline finance workflows • Support adoption and effective use of Xero • Provide administrative and cross-functional support as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent • At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting, reporting or a similar finance role • Strong hands-on experience managing a full set of accounts • Good knowledge of IFRS and applicable accounting standards • Sound understanding of Malaysia statutory and compliance requirements, including corporate tax, Annual Returns and statutory filings • Experience working with external auditors, tax agents and company secretaries • Experience with Xero is highly advantageous • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, Docs and Slides • Strong written and spoken English communication skills • Regional finance exposure across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and/or Hong Kong would be an added advantage • Meticulous and highly attentive to detail • Analytical, curious and comfortable working with numbers and financial data • Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities • Organised and capable of managing multiple deadlines, particularly during month-end and reporting periods • Proactive in identifying problems and recommending solutions • Comfortable communicating financial information to finance and non-finance stakeholders • Confident presenting insights and recommendations to senior management • Collaborative and able to build strong working relationships across teams • Keen to improve processes rather than simply maintain the status quo
