📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable full stack applications and microservices • Build modern front-end experiences using React and/or Angular and back-end services using Java and Spring Boot • Own complex features, services, and technical initiatives end-to-end from requirements through production support • Provide technical leadership for solution design, code quality, scalability, performance, reliability, security, maintainability, modernization, and developer productivity • Write maintainable code and champion automated testing, code reviews, clean coding, secure development, observability, and continuous improvement • Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, integration, infrastructure, and data layers • Participate in a shared on-call rotation and provide production support • Improve operational readiness, monitoring, documentation, and support practices • Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers through design reviews, code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing • Collaborate with architects, product partners, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into secure, scalable technical solutions • Contribute to technical roadmaps and continuous improvement efforts

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant full stack development experience and demonstrated technical leadership • Strong back-end expertise in Java, including core fundamentals, concurrency, JVM performance, and hands-on experience building RESTful services using Spring Boot • Strong front-end experience with React and/or Angular, contemporary tooling, component-based development, and automated testing practices • Experience designing secure, scalable APIs and systems, including versioning, code quality, testing, resiliency, observability, and maintainability • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar, including writing and optimizing SQL queries • Experience with cloud-native development and DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, containerization, and at least one major cloud provider, preferably AWS • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, evaluate tradeoffs, influence design decisions, guide implementation, and resolve complex production issues through root-cause analysis • Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile/Scrum environments • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience • Experience with AWS cloud-native applications, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS • Experience with event-driven and integration patterns, including Kafka, JMS, SQS, and REST-based integrations • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry, and CloudWatch • Knowledge of API and application security practices, including OAuth2, JWT, TLS, secrets management, secure coding, and vulnerability remediation • Experience in highly regulated environments such as financial services or healthcare; retirement services experience strongly preferred • Ability to establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, documentation, and delivery practices
