📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Expert/Senior Observability Engineers and SREs • Define and execute the enterprise observability roadmap, transitioning the organization to IBM Instana, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry • Manage vendor relationships, software licensing, cloud consumption costs, and department budgets • Act as delivery leader for observability engineering initiatives using Agile/Scrum frameworks • Oversee backlog grooming, sprint planning, and engineering-team resource capacity • Apply PMP best practices to manage FOAK platform onboarding, tool migrations, and multi-cloud telemetry integrations • Champion ITIL v4 practices and adherence to Change, Incident, and Problem Management protocols • Serve as Senior Escalation Manager during P1/P2 Major Incidents, coordinating war rooms and driving Root Cause Analysis • Automate operational toil and integrate observability tools with ServiceNow • Govern enterprise SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets • Provide technical oversight for Kubernetes observability, telemetry pipelines, and Ansible/Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code • Ensure observability platforms meet enterprise security, RBAC, and compliance standards • Partner with Application, Cloud, Security, and DevOps leaders to embed observability into CI/CD pipelines • Oversee Knowledge Transfer and transition programs for 24x7 operational readiness

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of total IT experience • At least 3-5 years directly managing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Observability, or Cloud Infrastructure teams • Proven track record of managing enterprise-wide IT transformation projects and complex vendor transitions • Deep experience operating within heavily regulated, 24x7 enterprise environments using structured service delivery models • Agile/Scrum • PMP/Project Management methodologies • ITIL v4 • ITSM (ServiceNow) • OKR tracking • Budget/Vendor Management • Deep conceptual understanding of IBM Instana, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Telegraf, and InfluxDB • Kubernetes, Docker, Multi-Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), Linux, and legacy monitoring (Netcool, SolarWinds) • Familiarity with DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, and IaC (Ansible/Terraform) • Required/Highly Preferred Certifications: ITIL 4 Foundation / Managing Professional; Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM); Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent Agile/Project management
