• Performing technical reviews of Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFRs) submitted by state and local governments • Applying generally accepted accounting principles applicable to US state and local governments (GAAP) and COA program requirements with a high level of proficiency • Assessing ACFRs and offering local government applicants recommendations for improvements • Participating in the design and delivery of training to our members
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting • Experience contributing to local government Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills • Ability to use document management technology • Ability to thrive in an independent, fully remote role • Experience as a COA program volunteer reviewer (preferred) • Familiarity with the use of Governmental Accounting Research System and GFOA's Governmental Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting (GAAFR)
