📋 Description

• Set technical direction on roadmap issues for Tempo • Lead multi-quarter technical initiatives from problem framing to rollout • Own architecture of core Tempo components: ingestion, storage, query and metrics generation • Design APIs for human and agent usage • Drive operational excellence against concrete SLOs • Mentor engineers through code reviews and design feedback • Contribute to open source by engaging the community

🎯 Requirements

• Technical leadership experience in leading complex, multi-quarter initiatives • Substantial hands-on experience with distributed data systems • Proficiency in Go or similar systems languages (Rust, C, C++) • Strong software craftsmanship • Operational mindset with experience in production services • Customer focus and pragmatism in breaking down complex problems • Excellent documentation and communication skills in a remote environment
