📋 Description

• Support a growing portfolio of professional development projects providing educational opportunities for staff and promoting career progression within the organisation and across Angola’s broader labour market. • Plan and expand HALO Angola’s professional development programme. • Identify workforce training requirements and partner with external educational institutions to provide courses. • Manage and direct HALO teachers providing educational training in remote field camps across provinces where HALO works. • Develop a needs-based professional development strategy through staff surveys, partnership evaluations, and labour market research. • Implement and formalise partnerships with training schools and academies. • Identify opportunities to expand staff training and areas requiring additional resourcing. • Build and maintain relationships with training partners and providers. • Ensure activities comply with the Capacity Development Policy and donor requirements. • Communicate training activities across the programme and align them with programme strategy. • Recruit, train, and manage professional development staff, including HALO teachers. • Review and centralise curricula, educational materials, and teacher performance metrics. • Develop annual and monthly training work plans with senior management and department heads. • Manage professional development training data and records according to HALO standards and policies. • Monitor and measure strategy impact and effectiveness, identifying gaps and improvements. • Conduct monthly monitoring and review of teachers working in remote camps. • Design and/or conduct relevant trainings as required. • Maintain reporting schedules, internal review processes, deliverables, and project trackers. • Coordinate with programme departments and location offices. • Undertake administrative duties, support policy compliance, contribute to strategic plans, and work on standalone projects. • Travel overseas as and when required. • Follow HALO health and safety procedures, including risk and COSHH assessments and evacuation procedures when necessary.

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience in management at an academic or training centre/school • Qualification or degree in teaching, preferably adult focussed learning • Demonstrable experience designing curricula and training programmes • Strategic thinking and strong initiative • Excellent computer and word processing skills • Experience leading and working effectively across multiple teams or locations • Exceptional organisational skills • Strong interpersonal and communications skills • Fluent written and spoken Portuguese • Fluent written and spoken English is desirable
