📋 Description

• Lead complex Citrix logon performance investigations across all logon phases • Analyze customer logon data, comparing high- and low-performing environments, subnet variations, user inconsistencies, and machine-specific outliers • Conduct packet-level Wireshark analysis for DNS, drive mapping, proxy/WPAD, and ICA session issues • Analyze Azure Log Analytics error patterns and correlate them with logon timelines • Interpret Citrix Director, Logic Monitor, Power BI, and other data to identify systemic patterns • Use AI tools to analyze Citrix configuration data, policy exports, and knowledge articles • Serve as subject matter expert on GPO configuration for Citrix VDA environments • Identify GPO misconfigurations, overlapping policies, legacy drift, and missing best-practice settings • Develop and maintain the GPO best practice library and Citrix policy standards • Investigate proxy/WPAD/auto-proxy configuration issues and downstream performance impacts • Review Optimus reports and automated audit outputs and drive remediation • Analyze and optimize Citrix user profiles, including FSLogix containers and profile management • Evaluate and tune HDX policies, EDT behavior, virtual channels, and session reliability settings • Investigate double-hop scenarios and identify registry-level and architectural improvements • Assess StoreFront versus Citrix Workspace App usage and recommend improvements • Design and refine the team's diagnostic playbook • Develop training materials, recorded sessions, and runbooks • Maintain a library of lessons learned from customer investigations • Mentor Systems Engineers and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions • Lead AI-assisted analysis and guide PowerShell/Python automation for GPO auditing and data extraction • Work with internal tooling teams to productionize AI-based GPO audit and Citrix policy analysis capabilities • Within 60 days, assess priority-customer logon performance, rank root causes, provide remediation recommendations, and deliver the first diagnostic playbook iteration • Within 6 months, deliver measurable customer logon improvements and systemic improvements across the install base

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of deep, hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop), including complex multi-site enterprise deployments, performance tuning, and advanced troubleshooting • Expert-level understanding of the Citrix logon process and key VDA and client-side metrics • Deep expertise in Windows Group Policy (GPO), including design, troubleshooting, and optimization in Citrix VDA environments • Proficiency with Citrix Director for session analysis, logon phase breakdowns, and troubleshooting • Experience with Wireshark or equivalent packet capture tools • Ability to correlate data from Power BI, Logic Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, event logs, and Citrix Director • Experience documenting complex findings and creating actionable processes and runbooks • Experience mentoring less senior engineers • Preferred: deep FSLogix expertise • Preferred: Azure cloud infrastructure experience, including Azure-hosted Citrix deployments, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure AD integration • Preferred: Citrix StoreFront and Workspace App architecture knowledge • Preferred: proxy settings, WPAD, and auto-proxy detection experience • Preferred: Optimus/OptimistDB or similar configuration audit frameworks • Preferred: PowerShell and/or Python scripting proficiency • Preferred: AI/LLM tools experience, such as Copilot, Gemini, or ChatGPT • Preferred: CCE-V certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise • Healthcare IT or managed services experience is highly desirable • Preferred: exposure to double-hop Citrix architectures
