📋 Description

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual closing process across the Group • Coordinate accounting across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions • Supervise day-to-day accounting activities of a two-person team • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting documentation and balance sheet accounts • Maintain the closing calendar, responsibilities and controls • Improve the speed, quality and reliability of the close • Act as a key Finance contact for annual audits and reviews • Partner with FP&A for timely and accurate financial reporting • Own monthly Group consolidation across multiple entities and currencies • Manage intercompany entries, reconciliations and eliminations • Review foreign currency translation and consolidation adjustments • Coordinate VAT compliance and indirect tax obligations • Support corporate income tax filings, tax provisions and local tax requirements • Maintain the compliance calendar and support transfer pricing documentation • Own accounting and financial reporting processes within NetSuite • Improve automation across reconciliations, consolidation, reporting and recurring accounting activities • Ensure accurate financial data flows into Finance from operational systems • Identify process weaknesses and implement practical solutions • Document Finance processes, accounting policies and audit trails • Make AI and automation a core part of Finance operations • Design AI-enabled workflows for reconciliations, intercompany matching, VAT reviews, transaction classification, closing controls and anomaly detection • Develop an exception-based approach with human oversight and validation • Measure improvements through shorter closing timelines, fewer reconciliations, reduced errors and increased Finance capacity • Report to the VP Finance and collaborate with Finance, Operations, Sales, Growth, People, external accountants, tax advisors and auditors

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, audit (Big 4), financial controlling or a similar Finance role, ideally in an international environment • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow accounting • Hands-on experience owning or coordinating monthly and annual financial closings • Experience with multiple legal entities and intercompany accounting • Strong understanding of financial controls and audit requirements • Experience working with ERP systems and investigating transactions directly within the system • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and confidence working with large financial datasets • Excellent written and spoken English • Hands-on, ownership-driven approach and ability to investigate issues and identify root causes • Interest in using AI, automation and new technologies to improve Finance processes and reduce manual work • CPA, ACCA, ACA, Swiss Certified Expert in Accounting and Controlling or equivalent qualification (nice to have) • Experience with NetSuite and Aleph (nice to have) • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation (nice to have) • Experience in an international scale-up or fast-growing company (nice to have) • Experience with VAT compliance across several European jurisdictions (nice to have) • Experience with US sales tax, Australian GST or other international indirect tax regimes (nice to have) • Experience with inventory accounting and product COGS (nice to have) • Experience with AI, workflow automation, data analytics or other Finance automation tools (nice to have) • Applicants must already hold a valid visa or work permit for their country of residence; Hilo cannot provide visa sponsorship
