📋 Description

• Lead and manage the workflow of the Senior and Junior Accountants reporting to you, allocating jobs and monitoring capacity, deadlines and service standards • Review SMSF returns, financial statements and workpapers prepared by Senior and Junior Accountants, and sign off within your authority • Provide day-to-day technical support to your team and resolve queries; escalate complex matters to the Manager of Accounting for resolution and final sign-off • Mentor, train and develop Junior and Senior staff, building technical capability across the team • Apply and share a detailed, expert understanding of Class Super across the full fund lifecycle • Apply an intricate understanding of property investments held within SMSFs, including Limited Recourse Borrowing Arrangements (LRBAs) and related compliance, structuring and reporting requirements • Liaise with external auditors, working through and resolving audit queries and issues • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Financial Advisors, on client SMSF strategies • Report to the Manager of Accounting on team workflow, capacity, job status and technical issues • Contribute to ongoing system and process improvement across the SMSF team • Support client services with client queries and, where required, communicate directly with clients

🎯 Requirements

• A degree or tertiary qualification in accounting • CA or CPA qualified (or in the final stages of completion) • 5+ years’ experience in SMSF returns, including experience with LRBA structures and SMSF property investments • Demonstrated experience reviewing SMSF returns and workpapers and managing or mentoring accounting staff • Class Super (essential and non-negotiable – you must have a strong, demonstrated working knowledge) • BGL Simple Fund 360 experience highly regarded • Competency across Microsoft Office/Windows suite, XPM (or comparable practice management software) and CAS • Proven ability to work independently in a remote, offshore setting with excellent time management • High level of written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills • Strong problem-solving skills and sound technical judgement • Highly organised, self-motivated and able to prioritise files and workloads to maintain service standards
