📋 Description

• Manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across Xero, QuickBooks and MYOB, including bank reconciliations, coding and month-end processes • Prepare BAS, IAS and GST workpapers for review and lodgment • Prepare end-of-year financial data and workpapers for individual, company and trust tax returns • Prepare client data for import into LodgeiT for tax preparation and lodgment • Assist with SMSF processing and annual compliance in BGL • Support corporate secretarial tasks, including ASIC updates and company records in NowInfinity • Maintain accurate, organized client files and workpapers • Flag queries, discrepancies and missing information clearly and early • Support practice administration during quieter periods, including document management, client follow-ups, system updates and general catch-up work • Work directly with the founder while independently managing day-to-day client work

🎯 Requirements

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, including hands-on work with Australian clients • Strong working knowledge of Australian tax and compliance, including GST, BAS and end-of-year processes • Advanced Xero proficiency (essential) • Experience with BGL for SMSF work (highly regarded) • Familiarity with QuickBooks, MYOB, LodgeiT and NowInfinity (a strong advantage; training available) • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field • Excellent written and spoken English with clear, proactive communication • A self-starter who works confidently with minimal supervision and takes ownership of deadlines • A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever the practice needs support • Availability for meetings and collaboration during core AEST or PHT business hours • Disclosure of any existing ongoing roles or client work • LinkedIn profile must reflect this engagement, marked as “Independent Contractor” if not employed via EOR
