📋 Description

• Manage accounting and compliance requirements across a portfolio of Australian clients • Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and other financial reports • Prepare and manage Australian tax compliance requirements for individual, company, trust, and related entity matters • Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) • Assist with Division 7A matters and related compliance requirements • Perform reconciliations, journals, month-end processes, and general ledger reviews • Manage accounting across multi-entity and group structures • Manage client accounting workflows from data processing through completion and review • Use Xero and Excel for accounting data, reporting, reconciliations, and client work • Identify inefficient processes and automate or streamline them • Use AI and other technology for workflow efficiency, research, documentation, analysis, and routine accounting tasks • Maintain accurate working papers and supporting documentation • Identify discrepancies, compliance issues, and potential risks and take appropriate action • Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders about accounting, compliance, and financial matters • Support senior team members and contribute to efficient client work delivery • Continuously improve accounting processes, systems, and workflows

🎯 Requirements

• Philippines-based candidate • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Australian public practice accounting • Proven experience working at a Senior Accountant level within an Australian accounting or business advisory practice • Strong Australian accounting and tax compliance knowledge • Hands-on experience with accounts preparation, taxation, BAS, and Division 7A • Strong understanding of Australian accounting and compliance requirements • Experience working with Xero and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Demonstrated experience managing multiple clients and/or multi-entity/group structures • Proven ability to manage accounting workflows independently from preparation through to completion • Demonstrated experience identifying repetitive tasks and automating or streamlining personal accounting workflows • Practical experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills • Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines and priorities • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to process improvement • High level of professional integrity when handling confidential client and financial information • CA or CPA qualification is nice to have • Experience with complex corporate, trust, partnership, or group structures is nice to have • Experience with accounting practice management or workflow software is nice to have • Experience implementing automation across accounting or compliance workflows is nice to have • Experience working with Australian SME clients is nice to have • Advanced Excel skills, including financial models, complex formulas, Power Query, or similar, are nice to have • Experience using additional accounting platforms or practice management systems is nice to have • Must disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work • Must reflect this engagement on LinkedIn as “Independent Contractor” • Expected to align with AU business hours, approximately 9 AM–5 PM, Monday to Friday • High level of professional integrity when handling confidential client and financial information
