📋 Description

• Perform system installations, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning • Manage logical partitions (LPARs) using PowerVM/VIOS • Implement and support high availability solutions (PowerHA / HACMP) • Manage storage integration (SAN, NPIV, MPIO) and backup solutions • Proficiency in AIX system internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting • Familiarity with backup/recovery tools (e.g., BRMS, TSM/Spectrum Protect) • Administer, configure, and maintain IBM AIX operating systems on IBM Power Systems • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions • Ensure system security compliance, including patch management and auditing • Automate routine administrative tasks using shell scripting (ksh/bash) • Collaborate with application, database, and network teams to support enterprise platforms • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and incident resolution • Manage ServiceNow ticket queue • Participate in on-call rotation for production support as needed • Be the point person for team projects when required including: Scheduling, Documentation, Ticket Approvals, etc.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience with IBM Power Systems hardware and virtualization (PowerVM, VIOS) • Experience with PowerHA • Experience with enterprise storage technologies (SAN, IBM Storwize, etc.) • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX system administration • IBM certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator – AIX) • Experience with NIM (Network Installation Manager) • Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards • Exposure to cloud integration or hybrid infrastructure • Experience with monitoring tools (Galileo, iDoctor, PerfNav, etc.) • Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform) • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting
