📋 Description

• Develop and operate scalable backend services and web applications for Customer Account, Service, and Loyalty • Design and implement APIs, services, and integrations using Java or Kotlin • Integrate systems and data using event-driven architectures, including Apache Kafka • Develop frontend functionality with TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern web technologies as needed • Work with AWS and help shape infrastructure and deployments through Infrastructure as Code • Ensure high software quality and platform stability through automated testing, code reviews, monitoring, and observability • Contribute to architecture and technology decisions and continuously improve shared engineering standards • Collaborate closely with Product Management, UX, Data, and other Engineering teams • Take ownership of solutions from concept through production operations • Use modern AI-assisted development tools and rigorously review their output to ensure high quality • Develop a Unified Commerce Platform that connects online and offline channels

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of software development experience, ideally in a full-stack or backend environment • Excellent knowledge of Java or Kotlin • Experience with modern backend architectures and APIs • Good knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS • Experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, Preact, or Vue • Experience with Apache Kafka or comparable event-streaming technologies and distributed systems • Experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases • Experience with automated testing • Strong commitment to maintainable, testable, and clean code • Understanding of CI/CD, monitoring, and observability • Self-directed, pragmatic, and team-oriented working style • German at least at B2 level • Proficient in English • Nice to have: Experience with Pulumi, Terraform, or comparable Infrastructure-as-Code technologies • Nice to have: Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, ECS, Cognito, or DynamoDB • Nice to have: Experience with Playwright, Jest, Vitest, JUnit, or Testcontainers • Nice to have: Knowledge of accessibility, web performance, or server-side rendering • Nice to have: Experience with Customer Account, CRM, Loyalty, or customer service systems • Nice to have: Experience in e-commerce, marketplace, or platform environments
